FAQ

why do we use gold vermeil instead of regular plating?

Gold vermeil offers a premium look and better durability than ordinary gold plated jewellery without the cost of solid gold.

What is gold vermeil?

Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 18k gold on a sterling silver (925) base.

How can I care for my jewellery?

Vermeil shouldn’t be polished the same way as solid gold or plain sterling silver, the polishing can gradually remove the gold layer.

Sterling silver jewellery can be cleaned by mixing a mild dishwashing liquid with lukewarm water, soak the jewellery for a few minutes, then gently clean it with a very soft toothbrush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. For tarnishing, use a silver polishing cloth. For our sterling silver rhodium plated jewellery, don’t aggressively polish with a silver cloth as repeated polishing can gradually wear the rhodium plating down. To care for your rhodium plated pieces, mild soap and a soft cloth are the most suitable options.

Repeated exposure to perfumes, lotions, sweat, water & friction are the factors that shorten the life of the plating.

occasional contact with these factors is ok, but should be avoided to keep your piece looking its best.

What packaging do we use?

All of our jewellery comes with its own box & pouch.
